This blog is about Spain, a country rich in history, tradition and with an intoxicating passion for life. But for those whose travel ambitions extend even further to the wider world, particularly the have-backpack-will-travel younger generation then, to badly paraphrase Derek (Del Boy) Trotter, "the world is your lobster".
What The Pho is a travel podcast for backpackers produced by Nick and Amy Thomson who have clocked up more countries than I have candles on my birthday cake (it's a lot). Their adventures have taken them all over the world including to Greece, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Turkey, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, Equador and the Galapagos Islands to name just a few.
The What The Pho travel podcast remains on line although with no recent episodes as the pair concentrated energies on building their podcast management business with services ranging from simple editing assistance up to podcast creation, hosting set-up and scheduling.
However Amy then came up with the brilliant idea of combining their podcast management skills with love for travel, founding The Travel Podcast Agency a full service podcast creation company for the travel and destination market. In the meantime, Nick had been busy building contacts in the football industry whilst working as podcast manager for Manchester United and is now a freelance podcast producer working for, among others, The Athletic and Platform Media. He has also launched his own podcast in search of the true meaning of football (a man after my own heart).
Nick and Amy are family so we are of course biased but they are both full of energy, positivity, capability and endeavour. They are also extremely likeable (far more so than me). It is no mean feat to indulge your passions and make a good living out of doing so.
